Narcissism Pt 2 | Why people pirate movies

Rachel took this photo of the little man this morning - it seems he has developed a bit of a crush... on himself: .

.

.

And on a completely unrelated note, I stumbled across this graphic this morning.  Having sat through annoying unskippable (loud) movie previews and pointless FBI warnings many, many times over the last few years, this is a nice reminder of why people are reluctant to fork out for DVDs these days:

New hoodie

Modelling the birthday hoodie that Aunty Kristine and Uncle Josh gave him a few weeks ago. In the full length photos, he is (of course) dancing to the soulful tunes of Handy Manny, the Spanish Disney Tool Guy. .

Don't look too closely at this photo.  You might see his "morning hair dreadlocks".

.

"Let's see... do we have all the tools?  Come on tools - LET'S DANCE!"  (Seriously, G's tool truck actually says this.  Someone at Disney is on crack)

Yes George, another photo.  Smile or you don't get any lunch.

Grey days, Birthdays

. .

.

It's a bit of a grey day outside, and since Bunky developed a cold a few days ago, it's a bit grey inside too.  He's pretty cheerful when he's up and about, but he's having a few problems sleeping - his own coughing tends to wake him up just as he's drifting off.  Last night was up and down, but despite quite a few yelps during the night, he was pretty cheery when we got him up at 7am.  At least he's timing his cold well - we've got Katy and Sam arriving this coming weekend, and Michael and Andres arriving in the middle of next week.

Anyway, here is Bunky's Happy Birthday dance for his paternal grandmother - Happy Birthday Grandma Shanti! In spite of his snotty nose, he managed to have a bit of a boogie to Handy Manny's musical tool truck this morning, just for you:

Weekend randomness

Nothing much to report other than the weather being horrible and Bunky having a bit of a cold.  Here's a compilation of random photos from the last few days (I'm still working out how to edit photos properly with Aperture, so forgive me if the colours look a bit wonky). .

Clockwise from left:  The gorgeous flowers from Aunty Kristine and Uncle Josh, George inspecting the contents of his toy box, George about to give the sleeping cats a rude awakening...

He's a Kiwi(fruit) kid...

I came home early thanks to Chinese New Year celebrations, and thus had the pleasure of administering his lordship's dinner to him.  As you can see, George is of the "Skin absorption" school of thought when it comes to consuming kiwifruit: .

It's almost Chinese New Year - Kung Hei Fat Choi!

It's almost Chinese New Year - and we get a four day weekend. Unfortunately the weather forecast is rotten (to put it mildly), but hopefully we'll still be able to go out and about for a few of the days. Kristine (Rachel's room mate at work) and Josh (Kristine's almost-but-not-quite-but-will-soon-be-her-husband) are coming over for brunch on Saturday, and we have plans to go to Karin's house for the fireworks on Monday (which might be moved to Tuesday, thanks to the weather...) I'm sure we have other things to do inbetween, but regardless of the weather it'll be lovely to spend four days in a row with Bunky.

Aperture 3 from Apple just came out, and I'm doing a 30 day trial on it to see whether it's worth purchasing. It's basically a slicker version of iPhoto on steroids. Seems to do pretty much everything the Photoshop does, but without the complicated menus - a bit more user friendly. I would be very surprised if I didn't pick up the full version at the end of the 30 days, but I've still got a bit of exploring to do.

I'll leave you with a photo of Bunky that I took this morning...
